There has been a number of guys on here that have said there isn't a noticeable difference between Gen 4 & Gen 5 in the trail models. I think the Gen 5 in the Summit and Freeride is where there has been significant improvements. I have seen a lot of good reviews of the Gen 5 in the Deep Snow.

Took it to my dealer and found out I was out of warranty by a month. Oct 30, 2013 · I thought it was odd that some Ski-doo cranks were letting loose at 2500 miles. From researching, many riders were getting 5,000 to even 9,000 miles out of their cranks. Some took the time to remove the PTO seal and grease the bearing, while others did not, and were lucky.

Then take off the oil press sender wire, elec cable to the starter, and the 2 starter bolts (all the bolts and the spare starter can be seen in my "tools" pic below just beyond my fingertips). 15 min job for me.
