Just clear off the green gunk or whatever and interact with it again and you will receive Antimatter. You also learn to make "Antimatter Housing".

The quest then has you jump to a second system where the antimatter recipe is given to you. You need to be in a 3 star system for best results. If there are 300 crash sites on a planet, 2% could be S class, so just 6 might be S class.
